At Nurst, we claim that our colostrum based skincare can be used on all skin types.

That’s a big claim.  While we know that not every product will work for every single person, we know that our formulation, with it’s balance of hero ingredients, can really benefit all skin types.  Keep readying to find out why!

What are skin types? Here are the most common ones and how to identify them:

  1. Normal skin: Note that normal skin is extremely rare, a little ironic since it is called “normal”. Normal skin is well-balanced, with no excess oil or dryness. It looks and feels healthy, and it’s not prone to breakouts or irritation.
  2. Oily skin: Oily skin is characterized by excess sebum (oil) production, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. Oily skin may appear shiny and feel greasy. To care for oily skin, it’s important to use non-comedogenic (non-pore-blocking) products and to cleanse your skin regularly to remove excess oil.  It is still extremely important to use a moisturizer daily on oily skin so the skin doesn’t get dehydrated and can be more balanced.

3. Dry skin: Dry skin lacks oil and moisture, which can lead to flakiness, tightness, and irritation. Dry skin may also be more prone to wrinkles and fine lines. To care for dry skin, it’s important to use products that are hydrating and to avoid hot water and harsh cleansers.  Moisturizing twice a day is very important.

4. Combination skin: Combination skin is a mix of oily and dry skin, with some areas (such as the T-zone) being oily and others (such as the cheeks) being dry. Combination skin is very common, which is why caring for our skin can be confusing.  Colostrum and its repairing properties are wonderful on combination skin.  Along with repairing colostrum, the sunflower oil can banish bacteria, niacinamide can decrease inflammation, and hyaluronic acid can balance moisture.

5. Sensitive skin: Sensitive skin is prone to irritation, redness, and allergies. It may react to certain skincare products or environmental factors, such as harsh weather or pollution. To care for sensitive skin, it’s important to use gentle, hypoallergenic products and to avoid harsh chemicals and fragrances.  Colostrum is INCREDIBLE on sensitive skin.

It’s also important to note that your skin type can change over time due to various factors, such as age, hormones, and lifestyle. It’s a good idea to pay attention to your skin’s needs and to adjust your skincare routine accordingly.  Follow our educators on our social channels to learn more about how to use our products and what to add into your routine if your skin has changed!
